Final day in Madrid

Vicki found a most excellent self guided walking tour on the net so we set off to do that. We had already stumbled across many of the points of interest in our previous wanderings but it was good to have some added context. We threw in a couple of churches including Almudena Cathedral which is a big one. This gave us access to the dome with great views across Madrid.

Part of the tour included Restaurante Botin which is on record as the oldest restaurant in the world. We queued up and managed to get a sitting. Thanks Steve and Janet for the heads up on this one too. It was outside our standard budget but a real treat. Suckling pig for lunch!

We also had another nibble at the Prado. Entry is free after 18:00 so we joined another queue and knocked off some of the rooms that we missed yesterday.

We're a bit sad to be leaving Madrid.
